RFQ Released: Development Teams called to partner on Canalside Pocket Neighborhood

Madison County, in partnership with the NYS Canal Corporation and the New York Power Authority, has released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to developers and development teams to partner on the redevelopment of 160 Center Street, Canastota, NY as part of the State’s Reimagine the Canals initiative.  This redevelopment project was awarded $1.5 Million through the Reimagine the Canals initiative. Madison County is the owner of the 160 Center Street site which features 2.5 acres and 250 feet of Erie Canal frontage. The preferred redevelopment of the site will include a mix of housing, creative layout and site design, and reactivation of the canal waterfront. Applicants to the RFQ should demonstrate their experience and capacity to construct and complete the project. This project is intended to be a pilot project for the NYS Canal system to showcase canalside living.
