The Canalside Pocket Neighborhood is the winning proposal of the highly publicized NYS Canals Reimagine the Canals competition and has received $1.5 Million to be used in direct support of developing the project.

The Site
The site is 2.5 acres with 250 feet of Erie Canal frontage. It is within 2 minute walking distance of Canastota’s downtown. The site is owned by Madison County.
The Village of Canasota, NY
The Location
Canastota, NY is a quintessential canal town with a charming main street, thruway access, and award winning businesses. The Old Erie Canal and the Empire State Trail run right through the heart of downtown Canastota.
The Vision
The project will leverage the build in brand and amenities of the Erie Canal and combine it with quality design to create a unique canalside living experience. This project is a pilot to be replicated in canal communities across the state.
